The hotel is approximately 65km east of the Alicante International airport, and short walk from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Built in 1971 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2014, the modern Hotel Helios has a total of 283 guest rooms, including 274 standard twin rooms and a further 9 singles, which are built over 9 floors and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area. All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and cosmetic mirror, along with a satellite television, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, all rooms are provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen once a week. Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with a games room and video arcade, an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, public internet terminals with complimentary high speed WiFi access available in selected areas, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars. Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large freshwater outdoor pool for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with sun loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a children's play area and both pool and table tennis tables. The Hotel Helios also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with a children's mini disco, which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
